“Since 2004 Martin Townsend has been my go to ecologist to support planning applications and appeals. He has provided advice on a wide range of projects including a gun club, industrial development in a rural location, waste management proposals and housing developments. He has provided clear guidance to meet requirements for mitigating the impact of development proposals on the ecology of an area.”
Graham Simpkin, former director (retired), Graham Simpkin Planning Ltd

“I have worked with Martin Townsend for over 10 years, carrying out extensive, landscape scale Oak Processionary Moth surveys. Martin's amiable diligence and perseverance to get a tough job done in a professional manner, allied to motivating and keeping good working relationships with the survey team, was evident throughout."
Dr Stephen Ellwood, director, Wildlife Savvy Ltd

“Martin's extensive specialist knowledge and experience of OPM ecology, monitoring and survey has been invaluable in helping to inform our rapidly emerging strategy for dealing with OPM, and allowed us to keep one step ahead of the pest from the outset. The key to successful OPM management is knowing where it is coming from and identifying it as soon as it becomes present on a site. This facilitates timely, targeted management."
Geoff Monck, ex Guildford Borough Council Tree and Woodland Officer

“Martin is a great author who I know I can always rely on to deliver authoritative and carefully researched text on time”.
